Legend of the Seeker is an American TV series produced by ABC Studios which premiered on November 1, 2008.

The story is based on the fantasy novel series The Sword of Truth by author Terry Goodkind. The TV show presents the epic journey of three heroes: a young woods guide, Richard Cypher (Craig Horner), a wizard named Zeddicus Zu’l Zorander (Bruce Spence) and a mysterious woman called Kahlan Amnell (Bridget Regan) in the attempt to stop evil Darken Rahl (Craig Parker) unleashing an ancient and terrifying power.

The action of the series takes place between three main provinces: Westland, Midlands and D’Hara. Westland is separated by a magical boundary from the Midlands, which was created to prevent any magic from entering Westland. On the other side of Midlands there is D’Hara, territory ruled by Darken Rahl. The Confessors oversee the welfare of the Midlands people.

The story begins with the invasion of Darken Rahl’s army into the province of Midlands. A Confessor, Kahlan Amnell, will have to go into Westland in the search of a wizard and the Seeker, who can fulfill the prophecy of defeating Darken Rahl. After she finds the wizard and the Seeker, the three embark together on a journey to seek out Rahl. They discover that in the process of defeating Darken Rahl, they unintentionally helped the Keeper of the Underworld create access between the underworld and the world of the living. So now, Richard Cypher and his friends must repair the damage and defeat the Keeper.
